We Delivered.

Creative Technology is honoured to once again support the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo (REMT) and the BBC in delivering the breath-taking projection mapping across Edinburgh Castle throughout each of the spectacular shows over the 3-week period.

This year marked a historic milestone – 75 Years of Heroes and Heritage – three-quarters of a century of tradition, spectacle and unity. With the Army at its heart and the theme, “The Heroes That Made Us,” this edition paid tribute to those whose courage and legacy shaped our world.

Leveraging our team’s extensive experience in large-scale projection mapping, we collaborated closely with REMT to transform Edinburgh Castle into a storytelling canvas, crafting an innovative visual experience that both honoured tradition and captivated audiences.

Utilising over 23 Panasonic RQ35K Laser Projectors, widely recognised in the industry for their unmatched resolution and quality, our team delivered an astounding 690,000 lumens, creating an intricate 6K canvas across the castle’s walls.

The content, designed by Kate Dawkins Studio, featured intricate narratives that demanded precise technical execution. Our crew ensured every detail shone across the castle’s complex surface, integrating long-throw lenses with a 12-camera auto projector alignment system powered by VYV’s Photon software.

This advanced system not only achieved pin-point accuracy but also allowed continuous monitoring and adjustments throughout each performance. Even under challenging ambient light conditions, the visuals remained sharp and immersive, ensuring the stories of “The Heroes That Made Us” were powerfully told.

The automated alignment capability also significantly reduced setup time, allowing our team to focus on fine-tuning creative and production elements – ultimately helping bring Edinburgh Castle to life in celebration of 75 years of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
